An annual winter tradition, the award-winning Niagara Falls WINTER FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS, Canada’s largest and longest running FREE outdoor light Festival includes more than 50 larger than life displays and dozens of trees wrapped in lights along the Niagara Parkway, including Canadian wildlife displays, the two-story tall Zimmerman Fountain, 40ft light tunnel, castle and more!

Enjoy the lights while you treat yourself to Hot Chocolate Trail. Hot chocolate lovers will be able to warm up with a hot beverage while exploring the Niagara Falls WINTER FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS.

This self-guided trail leads you to all the delicious chocolaty concoctions created by chocolatiers, chefs and mixologists at some of the excellent restaurants and bake shops across Niagara Falls.

20+ Unique Flavors On The Hot Chocolate Trail

From classic combinations with mint, orange and s’mores to inventive cocktails like a Velvet Kiss or a Dirty Snowman featuring unique homemade ingredients like flavored marshmallows and even eyeball gummies – this year’s Hot Chocolate Trail has 22 stops with 36 unique flavors to sip and savor (both non-alcoholic and alcoholic options):

DATES: November 18, 2023 – February 07, 2024

While sipping your way around the Hot Chocolate Trail be sure to enjoy the 3+ million lights and 75+ spectacular displays the transform Niagara Falls into an incredible winter wonderland. 

Drive or bundle up and walk through NEW displays and themed illumination areas, including the Royal Promenade, Frosted Falls, Enchanted Forest, and Great Canadian North with downloadable maps for planning.

Enjoy these fun events happening during the festival of lights:

Sparkling Winter Lights: The display is part of the regular nightly illumination of the Falls, with the five-minute lighting display playing through on the hour, at 6:00 pm, 7:00 pm and 8:00 pm each evening between November 18, 2023 and January 7, 2024.

Fireworks : The WFOL Fireworks series will kick off on Saturday, November 18th and continue every Friday and Saturday evening at 8:00pm. Nightly shows will take place over the holidays from December 22 through until the finale on Sunday January 7th, 2024. 

Santa Meet & Greet: You are invited to visit Santa Claus and get a complimentary digital photo to capture this holiday tradition on December 8, 9, 15, 16, 22 from 6pm-8pm.
