Situated near the Lake Michigan shoreline and on the shore of Muskegon Lake you’ll find the Shoreline Inn. A tower hotel rising high above any other nearby buildings giving guest beautiful scenic views from their room. It’s Muskegon’s only waterfront hotel and is the perfect home base for your travels in Muskegon and the surrounding area.
SHORELINE INN ROOMS
We stayed in a corner room which was fantastic. Windows on two sides allowed in plenty of light and step-out terraces was a nice compliment to the room and a great place to enjoy a glass of wine. In case you don’t travel with a bar box you can grab a bottle of wine or beer in the gift shop.
The room was large and complete with fridge, microwave and coffee station. The fridge is great for chilling a bottle or two of wine or storing snacks. Sipping a glass of wine while enjoying the view isn’t a bad way to spend some time.
SHORELINE INN LOBBY
Decor throughout the lobby and hotel is unique and fun. There are also plenty of comfortable conversational areas to meet up with friends.
There is a lovely bar in the lobby area as well that is perfect for a nightcap.
SHORELINE INN AMENNITIES
The resort has a plethora of amenities to keep guests comfortable and entertained. A 24-hour indoor pool and fitness center, a seasonal outdoor pool, bike and boat rentals, wifi, free continental breakfast, and on-site restaurant.
We didn’t have time to use the bikes or pool, but I love knowing they were available for us. There is a great paved path that runs in front of the hotel to ride bikes or go for a run.
SHORELINE INN LAKEHOUSE WATERFRONT GRILLE
The onsite restaurant offers up a delicious array of menu choices. If you are in need of comfort food give the grilled cheese and tomato soup a try. The restaurant also has outdoor seating which I highly recommend if the weather is good. A bit rainy when we arrived we were seated inside at a window table. In my opinion a water view is usually the best way to enjoy a meal.
As always, save room for dessert. The berry creme brûlée won’t disappoint.
NEAR SHORELINE INN
While the Shoreline Inn offers nice indoor/outdoor dining you may want to head over to Unruly Brewery to enjoy their delicious beers on tap. A beer flight is the best way to discover your favorite before committing to one. Unruly is a fun brewery in the heart of downtown and definitely worth a visit.
There are numerous art installments in the downtown area as well so after visiting the brewery be sure to take a stroll around and enjoy the art.
If you happen to be in Muskegon during the summer you must stop at Michigan’s 2nd largest farmer’s market. The majority of vendors are selling locally grown crops, but you’ll also want to stop by and try some cheese from The Cheese Lady. Jams & jellies, meats, flowers, and hand crafted goods are also available.
I’m looking forward to spending time in Muskegon and discovering more that the town has to offer!
