Carnival Sunshine Cruise On The Mediterranean, Yes Please

Sometimes it’s weird how life works. One minute its life as normal the next it’s an excited email from Jenn, my best blogging friend & all around awesome blogger at Happy Travels and The Rebel Chick, saying: “I have something BIG to tell you.” What??? What is it?? Yep, she left the email just like that.

I frantically texted, emailed, and facebooked. We finally connected and she told me that she had been invited on a Carnival Sunshine Cruise on the MEDITERRANEAN and she wanted me to go as her guest! Well, blow me over with a feather. Stunned. Completely and utterly stunned. Italy has been on my travel bucket list for so long it was starting to feel like my unicorn*

The cruise is in April and, at first, I had to decline her fabulous offer. Through tears I typed that there was just no way I could afford a $1,000+ plane ticket. January and February are traditionally my worst paying months. How in the world would I scrape together a grand in two months to buy a plane ticket? She said she understood and that she would ask her best friend.

Leap Of Faith

Two days later Jenn messaged to tell me that her best friend couldn’t go and ask if there was any way I would be able to join her. Look, fate/God/karma/whatever you want to call it doesn’t usually knock twice and if it does you better damn well find a way to make it work. I took a deep breath, thought to myself “you only live once” and told her I was in.

Now that I’ve committed. Now that I’ve put it out there that I am committed to going things are coming together. It reinforces my belief that you have to be willing to look fear in the face and take that leap of faith. Faith lessons are tough for me to learn but I’m getting there.

Carnival Sunshine Cruise On The Mediterranean

So, this April, I will be stepping onto Italian soil for the first time via Carnival Sunshine Cruise. I wish I had the words to convey what a monumental occasion this will be. I’ve warned Jenn that tears will be shed.Thinking about it still feels surreal. Like its happening to someone else. I can hardly believe it true.

When I decided to start living life MY way and not chained to a corporate job I never, ever imagined where it would take me. Isn’t that the thing about faith though. God has bigger plans for you than you ever have for yourself.

Be sure to follow my travel blog at MyFabTravels.com to stay up to date on pre-planning, photos and updates from the cruise, which, by the way, is my first cruise ever. Yep, I’m a cruise virgin. I’m excited that my first time is on the Carnival Sunshine Cruise in the Mediterranean.

*That elusive trip that you always dream about, but never happens.
