Oscar Night Cocktails

Are you getting ready for the Oscars? I know that I’m really looking forward to seeing wins Best Picture. There are so many great nominees this year including: Armour, Argo, Beasts of the Southern Wild, Django Unchained, Les Miserables, Life of Pi, Lincoln, Silver Linings Playbook and Zero Dark Thirty.

I saw Beasts of the Southern Wild, Lincoln and Zero Dark Thirty. I hope to watch Argo and Silver Linings Playbook before the award ceremony. I think that Lincoln might win this category, but there is some tough competition so I’m not sure who will win. Regardless of who wins or who looses I’ll be sharing some cocktails with my girlfriends while we watch the award ceremony unfold.

The margarita and mojito sound so tasty and I think they’ll end up staying on my cocktail list. They look like the perfect cocktail for the pool side or sitting outside during a hot summer night just enjoying summer.

A-LIST MARGARITA

3 oz Lemon Lime Sparkling ICE
1 Â½ oz Tequila
Splash of fresh squeezed orange
Fresh squeezed lime

Directions: Shake and pour into a chilled rocks glass rimmed in salt. Garnish with a lime slice.

SUPPORTING ROLE MOJITO

5 oz Lemon Lime Sparkling ICE
1 Â½ oz White rum
6 Mint leaves lightly muddled
Splash of lime

Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake and pour into a chilled tall glass. Garnish with a lime slice.

GLAMOUROUS GOLDEN SANGRIA

2 Bottles of VOGA Moscato
1 cup peach favored brandy
2 sliced peaches
2 sliced apricots
1 sliced orange
1 sliced Granny Smith apple
Â½ cup raspberries

Pour VOGA Moscato and brandy in a large pitcher and add sliced peach, apricot, apple, orange, and raspberries. Chill mixture for at least one hour (the longer the better!) and stir before serving.
