Grand Traverse Resort
We recently had the pleasure to be guests of the Grand Traverse Resort in Traverse City, MI. I love spending time in this region so when the Grand Traverse Resort asked me if I’d like to visit I jumped at the chance. All the years we’ve lived in northern Michigan and never once have we stayed at Grand Traverse Resort. I can honestly say that after this visit that will change.
Grand Traverse Resort
The resort sits near the shore of Grand Traverse bay with stunning views, beautifully landscaped grounds, award-winning restaurants, and some of the best golf courses in the region. Spending the weekend here was a great escape close to home.

The views are incredible whether you are looking out from your tower room or enjoying the views from the beach. Our room overlooked the golf courses and I could only image how pretty the view is in the fall with the trees exploding in autumns magnificent colors. The resort provided me with the below image and a think a visit in the fall is an absolute must!

Dining options abound at the Grand Traverse Resort. Everything from fine dining at the Aerie restuarant on the 16th floor of the tower to casual style at The Grille located in the Clubhouse.

There are 6 other restaurants on the property with 4 being seasonal and open only during the summer months.

We enjoyed a very yummy breakfast at the Sweetwater American Bistro located on the lobby level of the resort. It is a very relaxing way to get your morning started and they are happy to provide you with a cup of joe to go (I love that since I’m slightly addicted to caffeine).

In addition to food and three 18-hole championship golf courses the resort provides a first class health club, aerobic & yoga classes, indoor tennis courts, three heated, indoor-outdoor golf hitting bays (for rainy day and winter time fun), 2 outdoor pools and a 15,000-square foot Indoor Water Playground with waterslide, waterwalk obstacle course, zero-depth sprayground on the pool deck, and water basketball nets.

If you visit the resort during the summer you’ll want to spend some time at the resorts private beach on Grand Traverse Bay.  Beach chair abound and there is an outdoor pool and dining available at the beach. In the evening you can enjoy live music, a campfire and even make your own s’more.

Have I convinced you yet that the Grand Traverse Resort is the perfect place for a family getaway yet? If not, consider that the resort is just minutes from beautiful downtown Traverse City and close to the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes. Enjoy your days explore the area and your evenings enjoying the resort.

See you soon in northern Michigan!
