With the hustle and bustle that comes with the City of Orlando (translation: mile after mile of walking in theme parks and running from restaurant to restaurant), it’s hard to even think about relaxing sometimes. But, taking the time to relax and spend a day away from all of the hoopla is not only good for the body, it’s good for the soul. With that in mind, I decided our last day in Orlando would be spent recuperating from a super busy week we would be taking on. I wanted a full day to sit back, reconnect, and do nothing but enjoy our own company.

A stay at Hyatt Regency Orlando was just what we needed. With gorgeous views of Orlando proper and the House of Mouse, relaxing dips in the outdoor pool, and a visit to The Spa, we left relaxed, refreshed, and ready to hit the ground running.

Luxurious Beds and Comfortable Accommodations

When it comes to Hyatt beds, it’s really hard to top the Hyatt Grand. Even thinking about them right now makes me want to take a giant nap. The firmness is perfect and the bedding, well, let’s just say I’d use the linen provider at my house on a daily basis.

Our Metro Suite had a separate bedroom plus a living area with a heavenly view of the surrounding area including the pool. We each put on a Hyatt robe from the closet, popped open the champagne, and sat at the windowside table enjoying freshly made chocolate-dipped strawberries. A little rain wouldn’t stop us from enjoying the view and honestly, it gave our stay a homey and calming vibe. We barely noticed there were two flat screen televisions in the suite as the rain was more than enough to occupy our thoughts.

Hyatt Regency Club

If you’ve never experienced the Regency Club, do yourself a favor and book a room that includes unlimited visits. With daily breakfast offerings, snacks throughout the day, and light appetizers at dinner time (plus something sweet at bedtime), if you plan on relaxing in the hotel all day, the upcharge is well worth the additional cost. The view offered from the Club Lounge is of the main pool area and Grotto and at night you can see Disney world fireworks depending on the weather.

The concierge staff at Hyatt Regency Club only adds to the ambiance and they are a true asset to the hotel. They actually took the time to talk with us about food options and gave us suggestions on what to see and where to go in the area. They absolutely went out of their way to make sure our stay was 100% enjoyable.

Relaxation in The Spa

The next morning, we kicked off our day in the hotel with a couple’s massage in The Spa- Hyatt Regency Orlando’s on-site spot to treat yourself and your honey. Trying both the relaxation style and a deep tissue massages, my husband and I had 45 minutes of sheer bliss. If I didn’t know any better I swear he fell asleep for most of it although he would never admit it.  I’d never tried a deep tissue massage before and, even though I discussed intensity levels with my masseuse ahead of time, I never knew just how intense they can be until he got to work. Totally worth it, though, as the kink in my neck disappeared and my muscles felt so at ease.

After a massage, it’s easy to spend an hour or two just hanging around in The Spa. The staff encouraged us to stay a while, and whether it’s using the whirlpools or steam rooms in each of the locker rooms, there’s no reason to not feel uber relaxed when you walk out. We did both try the steam room in our own changing areas (my pores have never felt so clean!) and sat in our spa robes enjoying infused water and hot tea. The Spa offers two outdoor pools with varying temperatures solely for the use of its guests if you want a little more privacy instead of heading over to the main pool area.

Swimming and Dining the Day Away

With absolutely nothing on the itinerary for the rest of the day, we headed down to the pool and enjoyed a tasty lunch from Coconuts Poolside Bar and Grille in our private cabana. Yep, Hyatt Regency Orlando offers private poolside cabanas with a mini fridge stocked full of water and soda. Need something from the bar? There’s a button right inside the cabana that alerts the wait staff. Now that’s convenience.

Coconuts is perfect for poolside lunches and drinks and the wait staff is so attentive and on the ball. With a drink in hand and plates full of delicious food, we sat in the shade and admired the pretty view of the pool and tall hotel.

Whether you’re looking for a day away or an entire week’s worth of time to yourselves, Hyatt Regency Orlando is truly a fine option for couples looking to enjoy each other’s company in a luxurious setting.

Disclosure: I was hosted by Hyatt Regency Orlando to give you fine folks the scoop on what makes the hotel so amazing. I was not asked to state a particular  point of view and all opinions are my own!
