When there is an urge to get off the beaten track a bit and shake up travel plans, coming up with
a new destination can be tough. For many, the tropical beach type vacation has been done time
and time again, and that’s because it’s the style of break that’s promoted heavily when you go to
a travel agent. But that’s not for everyone all the time, and finding inspiration to break the tired
old cycle can be tricky.

However, help is at hand, with a look at alternative sources of inspiration that could fuel your
next trip. If you are itching to hop on a plane or a train to go off and find your next adventure,
then you can forget all the boring ways, like visiting the travel agent or sinking countless hours
into internet searches. Why not, instead, use what’s around you to reveal where you should
head?

Getting in the Game

Who doesn’t play games these days? Whether it’s matching gems on your phone, battling it out
online with friends, or spinning the reels at an online casino for a touch of thrill, there’s
inspiration to be had. No need to splash out on a travel agent, either. For instance, on the best
MuchBetter casino platforms or PayPal-friendly sites, you can make small deposits with your
preferred e-wallet or card and try a few themed slots. Many draw on the cultures of Egypt,
Greece, or the jungles of Mexico.
If video games are more your thing, titles like Assassin’s Creed offer stunning recreations of real
cities such as Florence and Venice. You’ll find equally rich settings in Ghost of Tsushima, which
captures the landscapes and architecture of feudal Japan with exceptional attention to detail, or
Red Dead Redemption 2, set across the vivid streets of Saint Denis, inspired by New Orleans.
After experiencing places digitally, it could be worth jumping into them in real life, just to get your
own taste of adventure.

Booking the Date

Most people have to book some time off work to go about their travels, and the calendar can
serve as some great travel inspiration as well. Look up the date when you can travel and then
conduct research about what happened on that particular date in history. This doesn’t have to
be a monumental date like July 4th, for example, because dig deep enough into any date, and
you’ll find plenty of inspiration.

It could be travelling to Boston, Massachusetts on March 10th, matching the date and place
where Alexander Graham Bell made the first successful telephone call, or a visit to Berlin on
November 9th (fall of the Berlin wall) or perhaps a visit to the Bahamas on October 12th, when
Christopher Columbus first arrived there.

Asking AI

Although this is dipping your toes into internet research, checking out places where AI thinks is
a good idea for you to go could produce interesting results. Throw some prompts at it with what
type of holiday you are looking for, what adventures you’re looking for, and whether it’s
backpacking, glamping or city hopping, and see what it comes up with.
You can even get it to create an itinerary for you so you don’t miss a thing. This is increasingly
becoming a travel trend, given that we are relying on AI for everything, so let it get creative and
suggest somewhere you may never have thought of.

The Opposite Game

Not the most exciting thing in the world, but we all check the weather. You could play the
opposite game with whatever your weather app is telling you, by completely flipping your local
weather on its head and finding a location that matches the new conditions.
If your local weather is reporting nothing but clear blue skies and high humidity, why not shock
your system and go somewhere cold and arid? You could also do this geographically, because
if you are coming from a big city, plant yourself in a small rural town and enjoy the uniqueness
that those environments bring.

The Travel List

There are endless opportunities for creating a list of creative travel destinations. A lot of people
search for the best beaches in a location, but why not tap into some more random searches?
How about curating a list of the best Ghost Towns, UNESCO creative cities or bizarre
museums? You can really tap into your own passions and pastimes as inspiration for travel lists,
and it can be a great way to plan road trips.

Getting Creative

Travel doesn’t have to be mundane, and sources of inspiration can come from anywhere, such
as a social media snap, reading about a location in a novel, or even just discovering the name
of a city for the first time and deciding to go there on a whim. Creativity is the key to adventure
and fun.

Calling all KISS fans, did you know KISS once rocked in Cadillac, Michigan back in 1975? This fall, we’re turning back the clock and celebrating in true KISS fashion with the KISS 50 Cadillac Reunion happening October 9–12, 2025!

A Small Town Meets a Legendary Band

Picture it: small-town Michigan in the early ‘70s. Autumn weekends mean crisp air, changing leaves, and a packed stadium for Viking football. The community rallies behind its team, which just wrapped up a flawless season. Hopes are sky-high until the following year begins with back-to-back losses. Spirits sink, and coaches Dave Brines and Jim Neff know they need something different to fire up their players.

That’s when Jim Neff, the assistant coach with a passion for rock and roll, turns to music. Not just any music, though something bold enough to shake things up. His pick? A rising band called KISS. Their thunderous sound, explosive energy, and in your face style were unlike anything Cadillac had seen before. And as fate would have it, their name lined up perfectly with an old football saying: Keep It Simple, Stupid.

The effect was immediate. The locker room buzzed with adrenaline, the team roared back with new confidence, and Cadillac unknowingly carved its name into KISS history. What started as a coaching experiment soon turned into a legendary connection between a small Michigan town and one of the world’s biggest rock bands.

When KISS finally rolled into Cadillac in 1975, the town went wild. Fans lined the streets to see the band in full makeup, and the players got a once in a lifetime pep boost when the group joined them on the field. Autographs were signed, photos were snapped, and Cadillac suddenly found itself on the national radar, all thanks to a bold rock band and a small-town team looking for a spark.

Experience the KISS 50 Cadillac Reunion

Now, fifty years later, Cadillac is ready to celebrate that legendary connection. For four days this October, our little town in Northern Michigan will be filled with KISS spirit, music, stories, and plenty of rock and roll nostalgia. In between the events, you can soak in the fall colors, stroll downtown, or explore the lakes and trails that make Cadillac such a perfect autumn getaway.

Mark your calendars, KISS fans, because this is one reunion you won’t want to miss.

This October, we’re bringing that legendary energy back to life! From downtown displays and museum exhibits to live music, tailgates, and even a KISS-themed drone show, the KISS 50 Cadillac Reunion lets fans experience the spirit of 1975 all over again. Whether you’re reliving the memories or discovering Cadillac’s rock history for the first time, every moment of the weekend is packed with music, fun, and nostalgia.

Traveling can be more enjoyable when you combine tasty snacks with engaging online activities. By incorporating both elements, your journeys become more fulfilling and entertaining. Discover how to integrate delightful snacks and digital entertainment into your travel routine.

As you prepare for your next adventure, think about how combining delicious snacks with entertaining online activities can enhance your travel experience. Ensuring you have everything you need for comfort and enjoyment is key to a successful trip. Snacks keep you energized, while online activities provide a mental break and entertainment during downtime. Exploring options like free spins no deposit platforms can offer exciting moments during your journey.

Preparing Travel-friendly Snacks

When packing for a trip, it’s essential to consider snacks that are both nutritious and easy to prepare. Homemade granola bars, packed with oats, nuts and dried fruits, provide a quick energy boost without the hassle of refrigeration. Pair them with a handful of mixed nuts for a protein-packed punch that will keep hunger at bay during long stretches on the road.

If you’re looking for something savory, consider preparing roasted chickpeas seasoned with your favorite spices. Not only are they crunchy and satisfying, but they’re also rich in fiber and protein. Another option is vegetable chips made from thinly sliced sweet potatoes or kale, lightly drizzled with olive oil and baked to perfection. These snacks are not only healthy but also add a touch of gourmet flair to your travel menu.

Keeping hydrated is just as important as snacking smartly. Bring along some homemade fruit-infused water bottles to stay refreshed without added sugars. Simply slice up fruits like lemon, cucumber, or berries and let them steep in water overnight. This refreshing drink pairs well with any snack choice and ensures you maintain hydration throughout your travels.

Enjoying Online Entertainment on the Go

Incorporating online activities into your travel downtime can transform ordinary moments into exciting experiences. With the advent of mobile technology, accessing entertainment options has never been easier. For those moments when you need a break from sightseeing, exploring engaging online options such as games can offer a fun diversion.

These games provide not only entertainment but also the thrill of winning without any initial investment. They can be enjoyed from the comfort of your hotel room or while waiting for transportation. Additionally, listening to podcasts or audiobooks during long journeys can make time fly by while enriching your mind with new insights and stories.

The convenience of portable devices allows you to explore these activities anywhere, enhancing your travel experience significantly. Whether it’s catching up on favorite shows or trying out new games, online entertainment ensures there’s never a dull moment during your trip.

Balancing Snacking and Gaming

While enjoying snacks and online games, it’s crucial to maintain balance to avoid overindulgence that might detract from your overall travel experience. Start by setting specific times for snacking so that it doesn’t interfere with meal plans or sightseeing schedules. Similarly, allocate dedicated time slots for gaming to ensure you’re making the most out of your trip.

Mindful eating practices help you savor each bite without rushing through meals or snacks. Enjoying your favorite game in moderation prevents burnout and keeps it enjoyable rather than becoming a distraction from the trip itself. Consider sharing these activities with fellow travelers to enhance social interactions and create shared memories.

Remember that travel is an opportunity for exploration and relaxation; finding harmony between snacking and gaming enhances this experience without overshadowing it. By staying aware of consumption habits in both food and screen time, you’ll find a more fulfilling travel routine that caters to all aspects of well-being.

Navigating your financial future often means choosing between a variety of savings and investment options, each designed for different stages of life and financial goals. From Roth IRAs and 401(k)s to reverse mortgages and traditional savings accounts, the range of tools can feel overwhelming. Understanding the key differences — and knowing which is best for your unique situation — can be the difference between a comfortable retirement and financial uncertainty.

This article dives into several popular financial instruments, highlighting their benefits, drawbacks, and the profiles of people who are best served by each.

1. Roth IRA

What It Is

A Roth Individual Retirement Account (IRA) is a retirement savings account where you contribute after-tax income. That means your money grows tax-free and you can withdraw it tax-free in retirement, provided certain conditions are met.

Key Features

Tax-free growth and withdrawals

Contribution limit: $7,000 for 2025 ($8,000 if you’re over 50)

No required minimum distributions (RMDs)

Income eligibility: Single filers must earn under $161,000 to contribute the full amount (phase-out starts at $146,000)

Pros

No taxes on qualified withdrawals

Great for young professionals expecting income growth

Can withdraw contributions (not earnings) at any time without penalty

Cons

Contributions are not tax-deductible

Income limits can exclude high earners

Best For:

Young workers, people in lower tax brackets now, and those who want flexibility in retirement withdrawals.

2. Traditional 401(k)

What It Is

A 401(k) is a tax-deferred retirement savings plan sponsored by an employer. Contributions are made pre-tax, lowering your taxable income, and you pay taxes on withdrawals in retirement.

Key Features

Tax-deferred growth

Higher contribution limits than IRAs: $23,000 for 2025 ($30,500 for age 50+)

Employer match in many cases

Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs) begin at age 73

Pros

Reduces current taxable income

Higher contribution limits

Employer match = free money

Cons

Taxes due on withdrawals

Limited investment options

Early withdrawal penalties before age 59½

Best For:

Mid-career employees, higher earners, and those with access to employer-sponsored plans.

3. Roth 401(k)

What It Is

A hybrid option combining features of a Roth IRA and a traditional 401(k). Contributions are made after-tax, but withdrawals are tax-free.

Key Features

No income limits

Same contribution limits as a 401(k)

RMDs required, but can be rolled into a Roth IRA to avoid them

Pros

Tax-free withdrawals

Higher contribution limits than Roth IRA

Ideal for long-term tax planning

Cons

Contributions don’t reduce current taxable income

Still subject to RMDs unless rolled into a Roth IRA

Best For:

High-income earners who anticipate higher taxes in retirement and want to diversify their tax exposure.

4. Reverse Mortgage

What It Is

Under the definition of a reverse mortgage, homeowners aged 62 or older can use this option to convert part of the equity in their home into cash — without selling the home or paying additional monthly bills.

Key Features

Loan is repaid when the homeowner dies, sells the home, or moves out

The most common type is the Home Equity Conversion Mortgage (HECM)

Pros

Access to home equity without monthly payments

Can supplement retirement income

Non-taxable income

Cons

Reduces inheritance for heirs

High fees and closing costs

Can jeopardize your home if terms are violated

Best For:

Retirees with limited income but significant home equity, especially those planning to age in place.

5. Traditional IRA

What It Is

Similar to a 401(k), a Traditional IRA offers tax-deferred savings but is not employer-sponsored. Contributions may be tax-deductible depending on your income and whether you’re covered by a workplace retirement plan.

Key Features

Contribution limit: Same as Roth IRA

RMDs begin at age 73

Tax-deductible contributions for qualifying individuals

Pros

Grows tax-deferred

Flexible investment options

Can lower current taxable income

Cons

Taxed upon withdrawal

Early withdrawal penalties

RMDs required

Best For:

Individuals without access to a 401(k) or looking for additional retirement savings beyond employer plans.

6. Health Savings Account (HSA)

What It Is

A Health Savings Account is a tax-advantaged account for medical expenses. It’s only available with high-deductible health plans (HDHPs), but it doubles as a retirement savings vehicle.

Key Features

Triple tax advantage: contributions, growth, and withdrawals (for qualified expenses) are all tax-free

Contribution limits for 2025: $4,300 (individual), $8,650 (family)

Pros

Unmatched tax benefits

Can be used as a secondary retirement account

Funds roll over year to year

Cons

Must be paired with a HDHP

Non-medical withdrawals before age 65 incur a 20% penalty

Best For:

Health-conscious savers, self-employed individuals, and those maxing out traditional retirement plans.

7. Brokerage Accounts

What It Is

A brokerage account allows you to invest in stocks, bonds, ETFs, and mutual funds without tax-deferred benefits.

Key Features

No contribution or income limits

Taxed annually on capital gains and dividends

Pros

Full liquidity and flexibility

No penalties for withdrawals

Unlimited contributions

Cons

No tax breaks

Requires active management to minimize taxes

Best For:

High-net-worth individuals looking for flexibility, or those who’ve maxed out other retirement vehicles.

8. Certificates of Deposit (CDs)

What It Is

CDs are time deposits offered by banks and credit unions that pay a fixed interest rate for a set term, usually with penalties for early withdrawal.

Key Features

Terms range from 3 months to 5 years or more

Insured by FDIC (or NCUA for credit unions)

Pros

Very low risk

Guaranteed returns

Suitable for short-term savings goals

Cons

Low yield compared to inflation and market returns

Illiquid

Best For:

Conservative savers and retirees seeking a safe, short-term place to park cash.

Which Option is Right for You?

Profile

Best Financial Tool(s)

Young professional, low tax bracket

Roth IRA, HSA, Roth 401(k)

Mid-career, higher income

Traditional 401(k), Roth 401(k), HSA

Self-employed

Traditional or Roth IRA, Solo 401(k), HSA

Approaching retirement

Traditional IRA, Reverse Mortgage (if home equity is needed), CDs

Already retired with home equity

Reverse Mortgage, CDs, Brokerage Account

High-income investor

Roth 401(k), Brokerage Account, Backdoor Roth IRA

Health-focused saver

HSA (used for long-term savings and medical costs)

Final Thoughts

There’s no one-size-fits-all solution when it comes to financial planning. The right mix of accounts — whether it’s a Roth IRA, 401(k), or even a reverse mortgage — depends on your income, lifestyle, retirement goals, and how comfortable you are with risk.

Working with a financial advisor can help you create a tailored plan, but understanding the basics puts you in a stronger position to make smart, confident decisions about your future.

Let your goals drive your strategy, and diversify your options to manage both taxes and risks along the way.

Ever stepped off the curb in Ohio and wondered which way the grocery store is—and if you’ll feel this disoriented forever? Whether you’ve relocated for work, family, or a fresh start, adjusting to a new city comes with a learning curve no GPS can fix. From unfamiliar traffic patterns to new social norms, it takes effort to rebuild a rhythm that feels natural. In this blog, we will share everyday tips for navigating life in a new city with confidence.

Get Your Bearings Early

Your surroundings affect your sense of comfort more than you might think. Before you try to build a new social life or reestablish your morning routine, start by understanding your neighborhood. Learn the streets, walk to the nearby coffee shop, figure out where to buy toothpaste at 10 p.m. when you’ve inevitably forgotten it. These small but foundational moves build familiarity fast and reduce that drifting feeling that tends to hang around during the early days in a new place.

You don’t need to explore everything all at once. Start with your essentials—commute, groceries, pharmacy—and then expand outward. Over time, what felt foreign will slowly begin to register as routine. Structure makes space for spontaneity, and eventually, you’ll notice you’re not checking your maps app quite as often.

Start Smart with the Right Help

Relocation doesn’t just begin when the boxes arrive. How you get from your old life to your new one often sets the tone for everything that follows. A reputable Columbus moving company like Black Tie Moving helps take the chaos out of the transition, letting you land with your sanity intact. Their attention to detail, transparent pricing, and professionalism don’t just streamline logistics—they give you breathing room to focus on settling in rather than stressing out. From careful packing to dependable delivery, it’s the kind of support that reminds you a fresh start doesn’t have to feel like an uphill climb.

Don’t Skip the Rituals

Relocating can scramble even the most basic routines. If morning jogs, Sunday meal prep, or daily journaling were your thing before, bring them with you. Repeating those habits in your new space helps rewire your brain to feel at home. It might feel awkward at first to jog in a neighborhood where you don’t recognize anyone or write in a journal surrounded by unpacked boxes, but the consistency pays off. These routines become anchors—signals that life is continuing, even if it looks different now.

And if your old rituals don’t quite fit anymore, that’s fine too. Change invites reevaluation. Maybe you discover a yoga class nearby that helps you reset. Maybe your new kitchen inspires different meals. Keep what works, tweak what doesn’t.

Let the Quiet Moments Teach You

One of the most underrated parts of adapting to a new city is learning to sit with the quiet. Before the invites come in, before your social calendar fills up again, there will be stillness—and maybe some loneliness. This isn’t a red flag. It’s part of the process.

In that space, pay attention to what you’re drawn to. Do you find yourself walking through a nearby park more than once? Bookmarking a local bookstore’s event calendar? Following a dog rescue group’s updates even if you don’t own a pet yet? These gentle leanings can shape the version of you that takes root in this new place. And they’re often more honest than the checklist of “things you should do in a new city.”

Create Connection, Not Just Contacts

When people say “make new friends,” what they really mean is “rebuild trust and familiarity from scratch,” which is exhausting and rarely quick. Don’t pressure yourself to recreate your entire social network overnight. Begin with proximity. Say hello to the barista who sees you three times a week. Talk to the neighbor whose dog always barks at yours. Ask someone in your building about their go-to takeout spot.

You don’t have to find your forever people right away. But forming even one or two stable touchpoints can make a new city feel less anonymous. And once you feel less like a stranger, opportunities for deeper connection start to show up where you least expect them.

Let the City Shape You

There’s a weird kind of pressure to “conquer” a new place. To know all the best spots. To find your scene. To feel like a local within six months. But what if instead of trying to shape the city around you, you let it shape you?

Cities—like people—have personalities. Some are caffeinated and fast-talking. Others are reflective and slow to reveal their best parts. Give your city room to surprise you. Maybe you’ve always been a gym person but end up hooked on hiking. Maybe your work-from-home rhythm shifts after discovering a café that plays jazz all day. The more flexible you are, the more naturally your new life can evolve.

Give Yourself More Time Than You Think

There’s a reason most advice says it takes a full year to feel truly settled. It’s not just about the place—it’s about who you become while adapting to it. Some weeks will feel like progress. Others will feel like backsliding. That’s normal.

You’ll notice turning points—like the first time you give someone directions, or when a local store clerk recognizes you. These moments don’t show up all at once, but they do add up. And they’re worth waiting for.

Stay Open, But Keep Your Boundaries

Newness has a way of making you say yes to everything. Invites you’d usually decline. Events that don’t actually interest you. It’s part survival instinct, part curiosity. And that’s not all bad. But stay mindful of what actually fills your cup and what drains it.

Saying yes to too much can leave you just as burned out as saying no to everything. Experiment, sure—but do it with your energy levels in mind. You didn’t move to be a social robot. You moved to build something real.

Relocating isn’t just about addresses and ZIP codes. It’s about identity. How you translate yourself into new surroundings. What you keep. What you outgrow. And how you choose to show up even when everything feels unfamiliar. With a little patience, a few solid habits, and some help from trusted resources along the way, the newness won’t last forever. Eventually, it’ll just be your life. And the best part? You get to decide what that looks like now.

Most people love cookies from childhood to adulthood. They’re nostalgic, comforting, and almost universally enjoyed.

Cookies are often cute, colorful, and extra sweet, so they might seem out of place in corporate gifting. But they’re quite effective in opening doors, warming up relationships, and much more.

Corporate cookies may seem like a small gesture, but they can be very effective in building strong connections. This piece discusses how to use cookies to your advantage in the business world.

Why Cookies Work in Business

You might think you need a million-dollar marketing campaign to stay on top of people’s minds. While that works, too. But sometimes, a well-timed box of cookies is all it takes.

Have you ever wondered why so many people can’t get enough of sweets? That’s because carbohydrates help the brain produce serotonin. It’s a chemical that promotes feelings of well-being. Meanwhile, sugar triggers the release of dopamine, which creates feelings of pleasure. You can tie the positive associations of cookies with your brand by giving them as corporate gifts.

Giving a sweet, customized treat is a thoughtful gesture many appreciate and remember. Corporate cookies for clients that bear your company’s logo or the event’s name can set you apart from other marketing gifts. They won’t appear as a soulless sales pitch but as a token of kindness.

Custom logo cookies also humanize your business. It doesn’t matter if you’re a solo founder or the owner of a big company. Sending cookies as business gifts shows there’s a real person behind the logo. It makes your brand feel warmer and more approachable.

Send Corporate Cookies During the Appropriate Times

Technically, you can send a cookie gift basket whenever you want. However, some opportunities work better than others.

A fantastic time is during the client onboarding process. Corporate cookies, as part of a small welcome package, can help your new clients feel valued at the start.

Client milestones like closing a deal, launching a new product, or hitting an anniversary call for thoughtful corporate gifts like cookies. These are personal moments that you can celebrate with something sweet. Cookies are a fun way to say ‘Congratulations’ without overdoing it.

A corporate event is another excellent opportunity for these sweet treats. With cookies in your giveaways and gift baskets, fundraising and charity events will feel warmer and more personal.

Cookies aren’t only for clients. They can be wonderful employee gifts during birthdays, holidays, or other special occasions. Consider adding a personalized message tailored to each team member on the cookies to make them truly unique per person.

Choose the Right Cookies

It’s not enough to know when to offer corporate cookies as a gift. Choosing the right kind of cookies shows attention and respect to the recipients.

Go for classic flavors like oatmeal raisin or chocolate chip cookies. Sugar cookies work well, too. If you can’t decide on one flavor, why not choose a variety pack? That way, your recipients can sample a little bit of everything.

Personalizing cookies is a smart move for business gifts. Cookies with an edible logo or custom photo cookies make the gift stand out without feeling too pushy. Just ensure your logo doesn’t overpower the actual cookie.

Try to avoid trendy or unusual flavor combinations. You could end up with cookies that look delicious but taste overwhelming. Consider dietary restrictions, too. Offer gluten-free, halal, nut-free, or vegan options to show courtesy. If you’re unsure, going with a mix can be safe.

Best Practices for Corporate Cookie Gifting

Presentation matters a lot in gifting. A high-quality gift box or tin in your brand colors gives the impression that the contents are special. Don’t overbrand the gift. A small logo on the box or tag on the ribbon works fine. People are more likely to remember the sender if the packaging looks premium.

While you’re at it, add a personalized note to each corporate gift basket. Even a simple message like ‘Thank you for your time’ shows sincerity. If you send out only a few packages, handwritten notes will feel more genuine than typewritten ones.

Make sure to time your delivery. Don’t wait a week after an important meeting to send a follow-up gift. The closer those cookie gifts are to the significant moment, the more impact they have.

Be cautious of suppliers, too. Choose a reliable cookie company, preferably one that you swear by. They should also be able to ship perishable goods safely and professionally.

Local vs. International Corporate Cookie Delivery

Speaking of deliveries, think about deciding between your local bakery or an international brand. Local vendors often bring creativity, charm, and faster turnaround. They’re great choices if you want your corporate cookies to feel personal.

A national or international bakery might be ideal if you need to send large batches of cookies as gifts. These vendors have more polished systems and packaging, which can be reassuring when you have executive-level recipients.

Always consider your audience. If your client cares about artisanal touches, go local. If they lean corporate, a big-name bakery would be a better idea.

Wrapping Up

Corporate cookies are the business world’s way of saying ‘Thank you’ or ‘I thought of you’ in a sweet yet still professional manner. Give these treats to celebrate a work win, thank your clients, or stand out in big corporate events.

Choose a cookie flavor you know most people will enjoy, pack them up nicely, and send them out on time. These sweet gestures can build a stronger relationship between you and your clients. And in business, that relationship could spell success.

Whether you’re on a mission to eat your way through the American South or eventually make it to the hustle and bustle of a major city like New York, embarking on a road trip adventure is special. Driving through the United States of America highlights the diverse range of states in the country, with every fresh location feeling like a new country. It can still get boring at times, though.

In order to combat the inevitability of boredom setting in during long drives on the open road, many people go fully equipped with games to play. Some options can be explored without a table, while others can be sampled through electronic devices. Likewise, some games are catered towards a solitary gaming experience, while others are perfect for some group fun. Let’s take a look at some popular options among roadtrippers below.

Would I Lie To You

A hit comedy panel show, Would I Lie To You can be adapted to suit a road trip adventure. All players have to do is share a story or make a claim about themselves, and then it’s up to the road trippers in attendance to guess if they’re telling the truth or not. Everyone in the car can come to their conclusion by asking two questions each, with the eventual aim being to rack up as many points as possible. Guess right and you’ll receive a point, and dupe the whole car and you’ll also receive a point. It’s that simple, and it’s extremely entertaining.

Card games

While the driver can’t get involved and you’ll require a small surface to play on, there are a plethora of card games you can play. Once you have a deck of cards at your disposal, the options are extensive. From rummy and poker, to go fish and cheat, they always help to pass the time.

Rainbow Cars

An option for all the family, Rainbow Cars isn’t the most complicated game, but it provides simple fun for a good few minutes. In this one, passengers have to spot as many different coloured vehicles as possible, perhaps ticking them off the list as they go. Some people also go one step further by looking for certain models of cars, making the game last even longer.

I Spy

An undisputed classic people have played for decades, I Spy is a game for everyone in the vehicle. With players describing an object they see on the open road, it’s up to their fellow passengers to guess what they’re referring to. A simple game that can keep everyone occupied for a good hour or so, I Spy never lets you down.

Games at McLuck

Image via https://x.com/McLuckOfficial

Be it through a smartphone device or a tablet, gaming is a preference for many. While you can download titles, sometimes a weak signal in a rural location might mean downloads take a while. As such, playing social casino games at McLuck and other online destinations that can be accessed through a web browser makes a lot of sense. From slots like Chicken Drop to classics like Texas Hold’em Poker 3D, there are some excellent games to get through.

21 Questions

Away from the technology-based offerings is another fun option for everyone in the car to play. In 21 Questions, players take it in turns guessing a secret person or a specific location. With yes/no questions to ask, be it a specific number agreed before the game or during an allocated time limit, this favourite serves up plenty of comical value with every wrong guess. A game both drivers and passengers enjoy playing, 21 Questions is a great option.

Atlantic City, New Jersey, is a place where dreams ride the crest of a wave and every street corner hums with a lively beat. It’s a town that’s got it all—glitz that’ll knock your socks off, history that’s tighter than a drum, and a salty seaside charm that hooks you faster than you can say “Boardwalk.”

The Jackpot Sounds team rolled into AC with stars in our eyes, ready to sniff out the best adventures to make your trip sing. Here’s our handpicked list of things to do that’ll have you falling head over heels for this coastal jewel.

1. Roll the Dice at the Casinos

You’d be barking up the wrong tree if you thought you could skip Atlantic City’s casinos. These neon-lit palaces are the city’s lifeblood, pumping out thrills like there’s no tomorrow.

From the high-rolling Borgata to the grand dame Caesars, there’s a spot for every card shark and dreamer. The Jackpot Sounds crew visited and rated Borgata’s poker room as a real feather in the cap—sleek tables, crackling energy, and tournaments that’ll keep you on pins and needles.

Whether you’re spinning slots, dealing blackjack, or betting on roulette, the vibe’s so electric it could light up a firecracker.

A word to the wise: keep your wallet on a short leash, but don’t miss the free show—people-watching here is worth its weight in gold. Try your hand at a game, soak up the buzz, and who knows? You might just hit the jackpot and be grinning like a Cheshire cat.

2. Take a Spin on the Boardwalk

The Atlantic City Boardwalk is a four-mile stretch of pure magic, where history and hustle rub shoulders like old pals. It’s the kind of place where you can kick up your heels and let the good times roll.

Stroll past quirky shops hawking everything from T-shirts to trinkets, snag a bag of saltwater taffy from Fralinger’s, and tip your hat to the street performers who’ve got more pizzazz than a barrel of monkeys.

Feeling spry?

Rent a bike or hop in a rolling chair—a rickshaw-like ride that’s as old-school as apple pie. Sip a frosty drink, feel the ocean breeze tickle your skin, and let the Boardwalk’s charm sweep you off your feet.

Day or night, this iconic strip is a sure bet for making memories that stick like glue.

3. Catch a Show That’ll Knock Your Socks Off

Boardwalk Hall is where Atlantic City pulls out all the stops, serving up entertainment that’s hotter than a two-dollar pistol.

This historic gem hosts everything from rock concerts that’ll have you dancing in the aisles to comedy shows that leave you in stitches. You can catch a sold-out gig here and couldn’t stop raving about the killer acoustics and old-world grandeur. It’s like stepping into a time machine with a VIP pass. Check the lineup for big names or offbeat events like boxing matches that pack a punch. Snag tickets early to get the catbird seat, and brace yourself for a night that’ll have you over the moon.

4. Eat Your Heart Out

Atlantic City’s food scene is a smorgasbord that’ll make your taste buds do a happy dance. Whether you’re in the mood to paint the town red with a fancy meal or keep it down-to-earth, AC’s got you covered. For a swanky night out, pull up a chair at Old Homestead Steakhouse, where the visitors sink their teeth into a ribeye so tender it melted like butter.

If you’re jonesing for something more laid-back, hightail it to White House Sub Shop, where the cheesesteaks are so legendary they could write their own ticket. And don’t sleep on the seafood—Dock’s Oyster House dishes up clams and crab so fresh they practically swim to your plate.

From hole-in-the-wall joints to high-end haunts, AC’s culinary game is a home run every time.

5. Kick Back on the Beach

When it’s time to take a breather, Atlantic City’s beaches are your ticket to paradise. They’re free, squeaky-clean, and perfect for letting your worries slip away like sand through your fingers.

Spread out a towel, let the waves sing you a lullaby, and soak up the sun till you’re as golden as a pancake. If you’re itching for action, rent a surfboard or paddleboard and ride the waves like a pro. It’s a soul-soothing way to start the day that’ll leave you cool as a cucumber.

Whether you’re building sandcastles or chasing seagulls, the beach is where AC’s magic feels like a warm hug.

6. Climb to New Heights at Absecon Lighthouse

For a taste of history with a side of jaw-dropping views, make a beeline for Absecon Lighthouse. This 1857 beauty is New Jersey’s tallest, and its 228 steps are a small price to pay for a panorama that’ll knock your socks off.

From the top, you’ll see the AC skyline and the Atlantic Ocean stretching out like a painter’s canvas. You’ll love poking around the museum at the base, where stories of shipwrecks and keepers light up the past.

If you’re feeling brave, sign up for an evening tour—those creaky stairs and ghostly tales might just give you goosebumps.

It’s a climb that’s worth its salt, and the selfies alone will make your friends green with envy.

7. Shop and Party at The Quarter

Tucked inside Tropicana, The Quarter is a slice of America’s Playground that’s as lively as a three-ring circus. This indoor maze of shops, bars, and eateries is where you can shop till you drop, sip cocktails that pack a wallop, and dance like nobody’s watching. Browse boutiques for souvenirs that won’t break the bank, knock back a mojito at Cuba Libre, or cut a rug at Boogie Nights, where the disco ball spins faster than gossip.

8. Get Your Adrenaline Fix with Water Sports

If you’ve got a need for speed, Atlantic City’s waters are calling your name. Jet ski rentals, parasailing, and deep-sea fishing are just a hop, skip, and a jump from the shore. Feel free to try your hand at parasailing and couldn’t stop yammering about the bird’s-eye view of the coastline—it’s like flying with the wind in your hair.

Local outfitters make it a breeze to gear up, and whether you’re a rookie or a seasoned pro, the ocean’s playground is a whale of a good time. Just don’t forget the sunscreen, or you’ll be red as a lobster by sundown.

9. Step Back in Time at Steel Pier

Steel Pier is where nostalgia and thrills go hand in hand, like peanut butter and jelly. This amusement park juts out over the ocean, offering rides that’ll have your heart racing faster than a jackrabbit.

From the Ferris wheel’s sky-high views to the slingshot ride that’ll leave you screaming bloody murder, there’s no shortage of fun.

Why Atlantic City Steals the Show

Las Vegas of the East Coast isn’t just a destination—it’s a state of mind. It’s where you can roll the dice on a big win, kick your shoes off on the sand, or belt out a tune at a concert that’s the cat’s meow. Jackpot Sounds fell hard for AC’s mix of old-school soul and modern swagger, and we’re betting our bottom dollar you will too. This town’s got a knack for turning every moment into a story you’ll tell for years, whether you’re chasing thrills or just soaking up the vibe.

So, pack your bags, leave your troubles in the dust, and get ready to paint the town red. Atlantic City’s waiting to show you a whale of a time, and with this guide in your back pocket, you’re in for a trip that’s the whole nine yards. What’s first on your list? Let the good times roll!

Travel is always an adventure and one of the best ways to explore the world. From seeing more of your own country to jetting off abroad, each trip broadens the mind and offers up some truly memorable life experiences.

Non-stop travel is not possible, though — which means downtime between trips is inevitable. But don’t look at this as a setback! This break between adventures is the perfect opportunity to recharge and reflect on the recent amazing experiences.

To really make the most of this time, finding awesome ways to stay entertained is a must. This article will help you overcome boredom and ensure that any downtime between journeys feels enjoyable rather than tedious. So, what are some of the best ways to make this happen?

#1: Try out online casino games

If you need some cool ways to stay busy between trips, online casino games are worth thinking about. There are lots of safe casinos to play online, and lots of US states have legalized this activity within their borders. Online casinos are great fun to try – they offer dynamic, fast-paced gameplay to enjoy. The latest games also come with eye-popping graphics, clear sound, and quirky characters.

There’s also a decent range of games to check out at the best internet casinos, and something for everyone to enjoy. Online roulette highlights this and brings one of the world’s top casino games to the digital screen. Find out more about how it works at AskGamblers.

With the ability to play from mobile or on PC/laptop, iGaming is certainly one of the best ways to stay entertained between travel trips.

#2: Music, TV shows, and movies

The time between travel breaks can be livened up by listening to your favorite music, watching top TV shows, or catching the latest movies. All of these things are easy to do via online streaming services and easily fill any spare time you have.

Taking time to do this is fantastic for recharging your batteries after your last adventure and truly relaxing. It’s also a great way to catch up on the latest smash-hit films or must-see TV shows, which you didn’t have time to catch when you were away.

Setting up playlists for your next trip or creating a list of shows/films to watch is also an entertaining way to keep boredom at bay when at home. This not only helps the time pass before your next break but means you’re fully prepared to set off again.

#3: Fit in some exercise

Although travel has many benefits, it’s not always the best for staying in shape. Most of us eat more when we’re away, exercise less, and can be partial to wild nights out with the odd drink! A great way to stay entertained between trips and get back to fitness is working out.

Whether you go to the local gym or exercise at home, the time before your next journey is ideal for toning up a little. It also gives you an effective way to shed any pounds you might have piled on when last away and get in shape for your next vacation. The key is finding an enjoyable way of working out — be it playing popular team sports, lifting weights, or going for a run.

#4: Engage with top hobbies

Likely, you’ll not get much chance to engage with your usual hobbies when you’re on a travel adventure. Even if you do fit in some reading or a little writing, you might not get as much chance as usual to do the things you love.

Spending some time re-engaging with your top hobbies is a great way to fill time between trips. It helps to keep you engaged while you wait to depart again, and in a fun, entertaining way. Another good tip is to use this time to discover new hobbies and dive into them. For example, if you’ve always fancied learning how to bake, the time between travel jaunts is the ideal opportunity to do this.

#5: Plan out your next vacation

Many activities to stay busy with between trips are pure entertainment, but these are not the only things to focus on. A good use of your time could be planning out your next adventure. This is a great option because it gives you plenty to stay busy with and quickly fills any spare time.

Start by thinking about where you might like to head next and researching various destinations. Once this is done, think about when you will go and book any travel/accommodation you need.

With your next trip taking shape, you can fill the time until it’s here by working out what you need to pack and what you’ll do when you’re away. If you plan to go somewhere like the top Caribbean destinations to take photos, you can also look at learning more about the local culture and language.

#6: Catch up with friends

Another great way to stay active between trips is catching up with friends. It will be good for you, especially if you’ve been away for a long time and haven’t seen them for a while. Even if you normally go on travel adventures with other people, catching up with friends who weren’t with you is fun.

You can see how they are and what they’ve been doing, but you’ll also have a chance to fill them in on your last break. From showing them photos of where you’ve been to sharing stories about the exciting things you’ve seen, it will be a rewarding experience for all of you. If you’ve started thinking about where to go next, you’ll be able to wow them with your next adventure and what it might contain.

Adventure awaits

As the above shows, the time between vacations can be an exciting opportunity! There are so many enjoyable activities to keep you busy and plenty of choices to stay entertained. By diving into some of these, you’ll not only recover from your last trip but also be all set for the adventures that await you on your next one!
