Best Buy has gone and combined two of my favorite things, travel and tech. Their new travel tips blog shares fun ways to use technology while traveling. Currently, the blog is sharing six ways that tech and travel go together. You can read all the travel tips from Best Buy at their site, but I have to tell you about two of my favorites.
TRAVEL TIPS FROM BEST BUY
MIDDLE-OF-NOWHERE MOVIES
This is probably my favorite of all of them. I love the drive-in, but our nearest is about 75 minutes away, which is too far to drive in the middle of the night after the shows are over. Instead, with a bit of help from Best Buy, we can enjoy movies in the middle of nowhere. An outdoor streaming theater is a great way to kick up your camping experience. You simply need a hotspot, a laptop, a Wi-Fi smart projector, plus some camper’s ingenuity and you’re watching your favorite travel flicks in no time. S’mores and popcorn are highly recommended.
A white sheet, some heavy twine, and clothes pins stretched between two trees and you can make a screen that will work perfect for watching movies in the woods. Don’t forget to pack some camp chairs and create the screen near the campfire so you can roast the marshmallows while enjoying a movie.
PHOTO SCAVENGER HUNT
Before your kids get too restless on the next family road trip, hand them point and shoot cameras, then throw a fun challenge at them: a photo scavenger hunt. Have the family create a list of ten things everyone needs to photograph before the trip is over. Ideas could include: sunflowers, butterfly, semi truck, dog, police car, round window, red barn, horse, fire hydrant, phone booth, etc. Extra points for verified Bigfoot or UFO photos.
