No, no, no. Not THAT F word. Although, sometimes I’m dropping that F bomb way too much.
The other F word. AKA: FATIGUE.
Fatigue, exhaustion, lethargy, burnout….whatever word you would like to call it I’ve had it in spades. It is debilitating to say the least. Went to the Doctor, he ran all kinds of blood work and, as is normal for me, found absolutely nothing wrong. Has no idea why I’m so freaking tired All. The. Time. I’ve been dealing with this for well over 6 months. I’m so tired of being tired.
I just keep pushing through doing what must done, but when I have some down time I’m usually taking a nap. It’s pathetic. I hate it. Some friends thought I should go on antidepressants because it gives them energy. Let me just go on record saying that I think antidepressants are way over prescribed in this country. I believe that some people truly need them, but I think Doctors are using them to cover the symptom and not find the cause.
Something has to change. I’m entering the busiest time of year for my business and I don’t have time to be tired. If anyone has any thought or ideas on a natural way to boost my energy levels please let me know. I’d love to know what you do to keep your energy levels up.
Cheers,
FloridaGirl–I'll check into that…it may be something that simple.
Sue–I know, crazy right????
You haven't switched what you're eating lately, have you? Last year, I had the same problem…I had switched to a vegetarian diet. I added meat, and wa-la, back to normal (as close as I can get to that-haha!)
Hope you're feeling better soon. Naps are nice, but three hours???
There may be physical reason such as chronic low serotonin levels. If that's the case SSRI's may be the answer. As a friend of mine says–better living through chemistry. 🙂
Thanks Julie…I'm here, it just seems hit and miss right now.
I took a 3 hour nap yesterday and then slept for 9 hours last night.(((shaking head))) Maybe I'm just getting old. I used to be able to run full tilt on about 6 hours of sleep….not anymore.
I was wondering where you have been at lately. Miss you out on the blogosphere! Hope you get some rest, Deb….
Thanks Marissa! Do I just add a wedge of lemon to my water or is there a specific amount I should use??
lemon water! Sounds SOOOO silly, but it's suppose to be a natural remedy to boost your energy AND helps you NOT retain water! woohoo, who doesn't love feeling lighter too?! I have been drinking two, 8oz glasses per day and it's GREAT…let me know if you try. I have a degree in health(not that it makes me an expert!!) but I get all of these emails that I subscribed to in college and lemon water was the latest…it's great!
