MY THOUGHTS:Â
I have really enjoyed Southern Living Farmers Market Cookbook. I’ve owned it for about a year now and it has been fun finding recipes that use items I find at my local market. I have made the Raspberry Lime Bites from this book a number of times and they are always a hit!
The book shares 100’s of recipes, most with full page beautiful color photos to accompany them. Tips can be found for certain recipes and include such things as “Here’s an easy way to chop fresh herbs: stuff the leaves into a glass measuring cup and insert kitchen shears or scissors, snip in cup, rotating shears with each snip.” (pg 227)
In addition to the mouth watering recipes there is a fresh produce and herb primer section which provides information on how to select, store, prepare and cook a vareity of fruits, veggies, and herbs. For me, this section alone is worth the price of the book. How many times have you looked at fruit & veggies and wondered if it was ripe or not? I know I have plenty of times.
MY RATING: 5/5 <<–a must have for the kitchen
