This past weekend I packed up an overnight bag & a cocktail tote (everyone has a cocktail tote, right?) and headed to the lake house for the girls getaway weekend. Yes, even during the winter we go to the lake house. It may be cold and frozen outside, but the house is warm and cozy.
This weekend there were 9 of us. Some new, some regulars, hopefully I have a new reader or two 😉 Most of the girls are scrapbookers, however, my friend Sara and I spent the majority of the weekend on the leather sectional couch that sucks you in and doesn’t let you up (I love that couch!!).
During the weekend we watch tv, eat great food, visit with friends and, my favorite part, drink cocktails!!! I have two thing that I always do during our girls weekend.Â
First, I always bake the girls a sweet treat. I usually try out new recipes on them. Luckily, I have been pretty successful and haven’t had any major failures. This weekend I made ebelskivers for the first time. They were very tasty.
Second, I always, always shake up some cocktail. The best part of the weekend was definitely the Lipton Tea Cocktails! They are so easy to make and so very delicious!! If you are not a fan of vodka (how is that even possible?) you could always add rum, schnapps or the alcohol of your choice.
This can just as easily be made into a mocktail recipe. Just skip the alcohol and mix together the cranberry juice and tea. It would also make a tasty sprizter by adding a splash of 7UP or Sprite.Â
2 ounces Lipton Tea Half & Half OR Lipton Tea Diet Green Tea Honey Gingseng
2 ounces sugar free Cranberry juice
1 ounce/2 ounces vodka, depending on how strong you like your drink
Pour ingredients in cocktail shaker with ice. Shake until cold. Strain into cocktail glass.
These would be the perfect cocktails to serve when you host a party celebrating your new Ultimate Entertainment Room that you can win from Lipton Tea. The sweepstakes information can be found on the side of the Lipton Tea bottles and the prizes are awesome!! If I won I would be shaking up a lot of these Lipton Tea cocktails to celebrate with my friends.Â
Everyone loves a girl’s night in and 2013 is my year to mix it up! Whether I am sharing unique, new recipes with friends, finding new ways to entertain or fun ways to stay active, I can’t wait to have more girl’s nights in this year.
