We drove to Newfound Gap, which is at the top of the scenic bypass through the Smoky’s. There were LOTS of people there, but we were fortunate and found a parking spot. The Appalachian trail goes through here and it’s also the divide for the the Tennessee and North Carolina state lines. The view is incredible. Completely. Freaking. Awesome. My camera just wasn’t able to capture how beautiful it is.
I have a few photos to share in another post about the areas of Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg. Let’s just say that the park was my favorite spot. The town areas were so packed with people it made me crazy.
