This post brought to you by Missouri Division of Tourism. All opinions are 100% mine.
We recently spent a week in Central Missouri and had so much fun (a lot more on that in the coming couple weeks), but there is so much more that I want to explore. We visited Columbia, Jefferson City, and Lake of the Ozarks. On the way home we swung by St. Louis so we could see the arch and there is stil more we want to do.
I’m already planned my next visit to the great state of Missouri using VisitMo.com. I want to spend some time in Kansas City discovering their Jazz and Foodie scenes. Â I’ve heard that Kansis City in known for its barbeque and most recently, it was named in Travel + Leisure’s magazine for best pizza in America (it came in #10 on the list).
There are so many places in Kansas City that I need to visit:
- Jowler Creek Winery
- Fiorella’s Jack Stack Barbecue–Freight House
- American Jazz Museum
- Arthur Bryant’s Barbeque
- Union Station
- The Midland, to catch a show
- City Market, the Midwest’s largest Farmer’s Market
There are a lot more restaurants to visit than I could ever list here. Kansas City really is a foodie lovers dream. Thankfully, there are quite a few nature centers in the area with great hiking trails to walk off all the great food.
My evenings would be filled with jazz music while visiting classy clubs or event venues. In my opinion there is nothing better than finishing off a great day than with music.
Of course, I’d love to stay at the Southmoreland on the Plaza Bed & Breakfast. It’s a circa 1913 Colonial. You stay includes private bath, sherry in your room, full breakfast, afternoon wine and snacks, evening beverages with sweet treats and 24-hour innkeeper services.
