WATER ADVENTURES IN AND AROUND CHIPLEY

Holmes Creek, Choctawhatchee River and Econfina Creek

These are the most popular attractions all year, but spring and summer are prime time to enjoy the more than 16,000 acres of freshwater opportunities.

Known throughout the region as excellent options for canoeing, kayaking, tubing and paddleboarding adventures.

Outfitters have all the gear needed and public access areas are perfect for swimming and picnics.

ANIMAL INTERACTIONS IN AND AROUND CHIPLEY

Two of Washington County’s most popular attractions allow visitors to have amazing experiences interacting with wild creatures.

Seacrest Wolf Preserve in Chipley

One of only a few facilities of its kind in the world, offering access like no other. The preserve is home to 22 wolves and gives visitors an opportunity to interact with them in hands-on experiences.

Seacrest furthers its mission of providing a safe and humane sanctuary for these beautiful animals and educating the public about this magnificent keystone species. VIP tours are offered by appointment.

Orange Hill Gator Farm

Tours are filled with up close encounters with alligators of all sizes. Visitors experience gators, along with other animals enjoying sanctuary on the farm, in a safe, family-friendly environment.

Experienced guides share facts about alligators’ growth, habits and habitats in both controlled and natural habitats. Tours are offered daily, by appointment only.

MORE OUTDOOR FUN

Sunshine Riding Trails

Fun guided horseback rides. Riders enjoy access to more than 10,000 acres of Florida sandhills and preserved forest on beautiful Tennessee Walking Horses. Rides range from one to four hours all year round.

The Swamp Off Road Park

Bring your own wheels and hit the miles of trails and a challenging obstacle course on the first and third Saturday of each month.

It’s a family-friendly venue and also has vehicle wash stations, hot showers and food vendors.

About Me

Deb is a travel writer/influencer from Michigan whose work takes her across the country in search of unique (think haunted & strange) and interesting attractions, landmarks, cities and towns.

She’s an avid road-tripper that loves staying in haunted locations, but enjoys everything from glamping to luxury accommodations.

She suffers from an incurable case of wanderlust, is a self-proclaimed wimp when it comes to extreme adventures, but is the first in line for ghost hunts.
