Ahhhh, it’s the month we celebrate the patron saint of love, Saint Valentine. Flower shops explode with orders, candy makers create elaborate chocolate bouquets and designs and love is, quite simply, in the air. However, if you’re looking for something a little bit more fun than the standard flowers and chocolate my friends over at Catholic Central have just the thing.

My favorite love story began here… ***Check out that veil!!! The 80’s called…..lol. Apparently, I was in a “go big or go home” state of mind”
They shared 10 ways to rock Valentine’s Day with me and I’m sharing with you because it’s just that cool. Disclosure, I’m not Catholic and don’t pretend to be online, heck my mom would say I’m not even religious but that doesn’t mean I don’t love, love. 🙂

Just the two of us…..
I like having a special day of the year to show Alan and the kids how much I truly do love them. I think sometimes we get so busy with life that showing the love falls through the cracks. What makes this 10 Ways to Rock Valentine’s Day list so great is you don’t have to break the bank to make one of these happen.
Y’all know I’d rather spend my dollars on travel so finding fun and budget-friendly ways to celebrate the holiday is really important.
Of course, Alan rocks when it comes to the daily act of love and kindness. My favorite is when he brings me coffee in bed (almost daily…just saying).
I, on the other hand, not so good at the daily things so really need these holidays to remind me to show how much I care.

And then there were four and the reason to celebrate love became that much sweeter.
I’m just going to admit, and this won’t be a surprise for my family, I’ve never been overly gushy or romantic.
It’s just not my style, but a card or a handwritten note with homemade cookies or similar tends to be my standard go-to on Valentine’s Day. It’s just a simple little way to take a moment, pause, and say “hey, love you lots!” without spending all my money.
Although I have to say, this list makes me want to up my game a bit. I’ll be working on one of these for the upcoming holiday.
I’m leaning towards the third one on the list. I’m trying to avoid all food-related fun because I’m still battling a couple pounds that need to leave my body by the end of the month (GRRR!).

All the love… sharing Valetine’s Day with the family!

All these years later they are still my favorite kind of people 🙂
