Best Buy

I have used up, old electronic equipment all around the house. I don’t want to put it in the garbage, I can’t donate it because it doesn’t work so I’ve just been letting it pile up in the house until I decide what to do with it. Fortunately, I recently found out that I can take my used electronics to Best Buy  for recycling and, the best part, its FREE.

There isn’t a catch (that I’ve found anyways). It doesn’t matter where you bought your electronic gadget or how old it is. Best Buy will recycle it. In fact, Best Buy recycles 387 pounds of electronics EACH MINUTE their stores are open. I’m not going to do the math, but that is a hell of a lot of electronics. Can you imagine how many electronics aren’t being recycled? Technology changes constantly and, therefore, creates so much waste. I’m glad that Best Buy is stepping up and helping people become more environmentally friendly.

Best Buy will responsibly and safely dispose of your electronics. No, they aren’t going into their dumpster. They are recycling them in an earth friendly manner. You can learn more about the Best Buy Recycle Program here. When you recycle your old electronics at Best Buy you can upgrade to an Energy Star certified product.

Wondering what you can recycle at Best Buy? Here’s a list of some of the items they accept:

TV’s
DVD PLAYERS
VCR’s
PORTABLE DVD PLAYERS
PORTABLE TV
PORTABLE MEDIA PLAYERS
CAMERAS
CAMCORDERS
COMPUTER MONITORS
CELL PHONES

This is just PART of the list! You can find the full list of products that are accepted here.

Have you recycled any old electronics at Best Buy? What was your experience? Was it easy and painless?  Will you recycle your old electronics at Best Buy?

Em & BB crashed on the couch Just Now. I’m avoiding work that I have to get done, but I just don’t have the creativity to write what needs to be written. Drinking. Punchy concoction of sugar-free cranberry juice cut with a bit of Sierra Mist–there may or may not be  a shot of vodka added. Reading. Wee […]

We love Rice Krispie treats at our house. My friend Sara makes salted browned buttered krispie treats that are simply drool worthy. I decided to do my own salty sweet version using pretzels to add the salty component to make these salty sweet rice krispie treats. Making these salty sweet was really simple. I took […]

Peanut butter and banana is my favorite food combination. My lunch is often a banana sliced in half lengthwise, spread with peanut butter, put back together and eaten like a sandwich. Yum. Yum. Yum. Since peanut butter and banana is such a yummy combination I thought it might be awesome in a muffin. I researched […]
